What is Freemasonry?
What do Freemasons believe?

Freemasonry

Freemasonry, often viewed as a harmless fellowship, lacks faith in the one true God. Instead, it promotes a belief in a “Supreme Being,” which can be interpreted in various ways, including gods from different religions. While it superficially aligns with Christian values, it significantly diverges from biblical teachings.

Salvation from Sin

  • The Bible: Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, who sacrificed Himself for humanity's sins (Ephesians 2:89; Romans 5:8; John 3:16).

  •  Freemasonry: Focuses on self-improvement and good works, disregarding Christ’s exclusivity as Savior.

The View of the Bible

  •  The Bible: Considered the authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16).

  •  Freemasonry: The Bible is one of several sacred texts and not viewed as the sole revelation of God.

The Doctrine of God

  •  The Bible: Worships one God; idolatry is condemned (Exodus 20:3).

  •  Freemasonry: Accepts multiple deities, suggesting that different religions worship the same God under various names.

The Doctrine of Jesus and the Trinity

  •  The Bible: Jesus is fully divine and part of the Trinity (Matthew 28:19).

  •  Freemasonry: No exclusivity for Jesus; He is likened to figures from other religions.

Human Nature and Sin

  •  The Bible: All are born with a sinful nature and need a Savior (Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1).

  • Freemasonry: Teaches that humans can achieve perfection through self-improvement, dismissing inherent sinfulness.

When a Christian takes the oath of Freemasonry, he accepts doctrines that contradict biblical teachings, such as the belief that good works can earn salvation and that Jesus is merely one of many prophets. This participation suggests a reliance on Freemasonry’s plan for salvation rather than on Christ, compromising the Christian's witness.

Masonry also contradicts Scripture on several key issues, making it unsuitable for Christians.
